We flew into Raleigh before we took the road to our timeshare at the Outer Banks along the shores of North Carolina. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we felt a strong wind which presented a cold chill for us all the time we were close to ocean.
Most all of our time was spent at three locations, Cape Hatteras, Kill Devil Hill and along the narrow band of sand which makes up the Outer Banks.
We traveled down to Elizabeth City and joined the Outer Banks at Kitty Hawk near the Southern Shores, but on the long island where Kill Devil Hill, Nags Head, Hatteras and Ocracoke were located. This is as far as we went before returning to our timeshare.
We came at an opportune time as they were in the process of moving the Lighthouse up the hill due to the rising water of the ocean. I will let the experts explain this later.
We were delighted to travel along the Atlantic Ocean in seeing the sights we were to enjoy
Our travel to the middle of the Banks and to the Wright Brothers National Park was worth the time and effort required to see the hill where Wilbur and Orville first made their flight.
We visited the museum and saw the model of the plane that the two Ex-bicyclists used in making their short trip while being airborne.
There were lots of sights to see concerning the museums and Kill Devil Hill and we made the most of it.
We viewed the work that was being done in moving lighthouse in a most spectacular method without destroying the edifice.
We were able to see the lighthouse and the caretaker’s house while we were touring the area.
We could not find all of our pictures but we have enough to allow you to understand what we witnessed while we there, but we will share one we found
Later, we traveled down the Outer Banks to Bodie Island Lighthouse and Ocracoke before returning to our timeshare.
